Graded Exams:
RSL Awards follows a progressive grading system to evaluate your proficiency in your chosen instrument. Each grade is designed to challenge your skills and help you achieve musical excellence:
- Grades 1-3 (Beginner Level): For new learners who are just starting their musical journey.
- Grades 4-5 (Intermediate Level): For students with a solid understanding of musical concepts and techniques.
- Grades 6-8 (Advanced Level): For experienced musicians aiming for professional-level mastery.
- Diplomas: For students who wish to pursue a career in music, RSL offers diploma-level certifications.
Exam Components:
Each graded exam consists of the following components:
- Performance Pieces: Choose from an extensive repertoire of contemporary tracks or bring your own.
- Technical Exercises: Learn and demonstrate key skills such as scales, arpeggios, and riffs.
- Sight Reading / Improvisation: Develop your ability to read music or improvise during performances.
- General Musicianship Questions: Demonstrate your knowledge of music theory and history.
